Product Name Luteinizing Hormone/Choriogonadotropin Receptor
Catalogue No. CM525829
Description LHCGR is a Glycoprotein Hormone Receptor for both luteinizing hormone and choriogonadotropin. It is expressed in the reproductive organs of both males and females. In males, the luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor is involved in the development and function of Leydig cells. Mutations in this gonadotropin receptor can result in disorders of male secondary sexual character development, such as familial male precocious puperty and male pseudohermaphroditism, or lead to adenomas of the testis. In females, inactivating mutations of LHCGR cause hypergonadotrophic hypogonadism with primary amenorrhea or oligomenorrhea, cystic ovaries, and infertility. LHCGR has many alternatively spliced isoforms that affect where this gene is expressed. LHCGR has been reported in brain, cervix, epididymis, ovary, placenta, prostate, testis, umbilical cord, and uterus. ESTs have been isolated from fetal lung/testis/B-cell and testis libraries.
