Product Name Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone Receptor
Catalogue No. CM525788
Description GHRHR, a Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone Receptor, is involved in the proliferation and differentiation of somatotrophic pituitary cells and in disease. The GHRH receptor stimulates growth hormone (GH) secretion and synthesis in the pituitary. Mutations in this receptor cause either growth-hormone deficiency, resulting in dwarfism, or excessive production of the hormone, leading to gigantism. Four alternative splice variants have been identified that are tissue specific. GHRHR has been reported to be expressed primarily in the brain. ESTs have been isolated from brain and pituitary libraries.
