Product Name | Galanin Receptor GalR2
Catalogue No. | CM525758
Description | GalR2 is a Galanin Receptor that is involved in neuroendocrine regulation and control of feeding behavior. In contrast to GalR1, the primary signaling mechanism of GalR2 is through phospholipase C/protein kinase C. GalR2 expression has been documented widely in the brain and in peripheral tissues including small intestine, heart, kidney, and liver. Localization data from rat CNS indicate high levels of expression in dorsal root ganglia, amygdala, Purkinje neurons, dentate gyrus, hypothalamus, pituitary, and cingulate, entorhinal, and piriform cortices, among others. Conflicting expression results have been documented in the literature with respect to the CNS and peripheral expression patterns. ESTs have been isolated from mouse brain libraries.
