Description |
Kundrat Agar is formulated to perform the assay of antibiotic and sulfamides which remains in the food. The testing can be done by the Diffusion Test technique and with B. stearothermophilus as test strain. Presence of chemotherapeutic agents is indicated by the formation of inhibition halos or zones around the disc with the sample. These halos remain violet while the rest of the plate changes to yellow due to acid production from sugar, as a result of bacterial growth. Normal assay results can be obtained within 3-4 hours, however by using the pre-incubated plates they are obtained just within 40-50 minutes. |
