KAA Presumptive Broth and Confirmative Agar are the two media that the Spanish National Center for Food and Nutrition (CeNAN) recommend to detect, enumerate and isolate Lancefield’s group D streptococci in samples of food and beverages like: bottled water, fresh, refrigerated, frozen or mashed meat, fish and molluscs, soft drinks, pastries, spices and semiconserves. Kanamycin and sodium azide are the selective inhibitory compounds. |
